What is Cambridge Iridology?

Iridology is the science of analysing the iris of the eye. It is a unique form of health analysis – a simple, painless, non-intrusive method of diagnosing constitutional strengths and weaknesses and literally the condition of each and every organ inside your body.

The history of Iridology

Iridology is by no means a new science; history records that the eyes have been used to diagnose a person’s health for literally thousands of years.

However, it is in the last two hundred years that iris-analysis has received scientific investigation by medical doctors and has developed into the science which is now used increasing throughout the world.

How Does it Work?

The answer lies in the iris-brain connection. The eyes and the brain are closely related. In the embryo the eyes starts life as part of the brain.

It then slowly separates, yet remains connected to the brain via the optic nerve and optic thalami, and the sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous systems.

The iris is in fact an extension of the brain. The nerve cells within the iris appear to record the vibratory rate of the cells in other parts of the body, and respond to changes in body tissue.

The markings and colours of the iris change as the conditions of the body tissue change.

The benefits of Iridology

Iridology is positive and preventaive. It enables us not only to identify the conditions within the body but also to recognise any changes in the tissues long before clinical symptoms develop.

Iridology gives us the opportunity to correct health problems and imbalances long before a major health problem arises. With iridology we are not concerned with treating a ‘disease’ as many diseases have similar symptoms.

We are concerned with the underlying causes of the symptoms and addressing these to enable the body to move to a position where it will heal itself.

What happens at a consultation?

Initially, the eyes are analysed using a magnifier and light and all body systems are assessed including strengths, weaknesses, toxicity, spasm, acidity, congestion, degeneration, etc.. The client is then asked details questions about diet, medical history, lifestyle, family history, etc.

Inorder to identify the various reasons for what is recorded in the eyes. Finally, the eyes are photographed to enable further detailed analysis to be performed. This initial consultation lasts for approximately two hours.

Following this initial consultation, a typed treatment programme is prepared based on these investigations and copies of the iris photographs are given and explained to the client at a subsequent appointment.
