I have been involved in teaching personal development and giving guidance for the last 12 years. Prior to that I worked in further education in student services.
I helped to set up a centre funded by the national lottery to give disadvantaged people the opportunity to learn new skills. This ran for 5 years and was very successful. During that time I studied for the Foundation in Training and Development, as I ran a small classroom. I also studied Levels 2, 3 and 4 in Advice and Guidance with the Open University, enabling me to work as a Careers Adviser. I followed this up with Theory of Counselling in Cambridge. This then led me to work as an Adult Guidance Adviser.
I completed a Counselling Diploma in 2006, and would define my approach as integrative underpinned by transpersonal psychology and philosophy. I spent 2 years working as a volunteer counsellor with young people as part of the course. It was at this point I became interested in other healing modalities and led me to study Reiki and later Crystal Therapy for 3 years.
For 5 years my guidance work focused primarily on clients who were on probation orders and so I decided to look into addiction awareness. I attended modular training with DANOS (Drugs and Alcohol National Standards), and then spent a year offering counselling and healing sessions to a local substance misuse charity on a voluntary basis. I found this to be a life changing experience.
I have since studied advanced meditation techniques and now practice Rahanni Celestial Healing, which is a hands-on deep healing process, along with a range of other healing techniques.
